Purchasing Uniform items

Hoodies, rugby jumpers, hats, beanies and school bags are available at the School Office.

Windbreakers are available from Prestige Promotions in Portland.

All other uniform may be purchased at various stores such as Target, Big W, Kmart.

Black lace up shoes, elastic sided boots, black buckle shoes or basic sports shoe/runner (no cosmetic shoe accessories). No open toed shoes or thongs are allowed at any time.

The school buildings have carpeted hallways and rooms and students are asked to remove their shoes inside. Students put their shoes on/off many times a day – until your child can tie their shoelaces independently it may be helpful to have pull on boots or shoes with a Velcro strap.

Hats are compulsory

Heywood Consolidated is a SunSmart School and we have a “No hat, No play” policy during Term 1 and 4. A green wide brimmed or bucket style hat must be worn when outside or the child must sit in the shade area.  We also have a school Beanie for winter months.

Lost property

Label all items of clothing with the student’s name. A lost property cupboard is found near the front office. Favourite or expensive toys should NOT be brought to school. At the end of each term the lost property is cleared of unnamed items and they are donated to the local Opportunity Shop.

Extra clothes

In preparation for those little accidents that can happen, the school has a very small supply of spare second hand clothes for emergencies. If your child is sent home with some of these please wash and return them as soon as possible.
