ABOUT HEYCON

The core purpose of Heywood Consolidated School is to provide a positive and caring environment that enhances learning, supports opportunities and promotes well being for all students. In addition to this HeyCon promotes a stimulating environment for all staff, and values and involves community input.

HeyCon's enthusiastic and dedicated staff and School Council work with the Heywood community to ensure each student receives the best learning opportunities possible. It is through these partnerships that we realise our school motto of learning and growing together.

Specific values Heywood Consolidated focus on are integrity, respect and responsibility. These are the cornerstone for our children, our staff, and the school community in all areas of our operation. Our school also values Persistence, Getting along, Organisation, Confidence and Resilience through the You Can Do It program.

Current enrolments enable us to provide specialised teaching in Health and Physical Education, Music, Performing and Visual Arts, and Indonesian. This teaching compliments the literacy, mathematics, science, humanities, civics and citizenship, and ICT curriculum delivered by our classroom teachers.

Along with the teaching of such subjects Heywood Consolidated offers an impressive range of additional learning opportunities. Examples of these include our extensive camps program, excursions and various sporting opportunities.
